Day 2 Part 3

An old building converted into a pre-school.

An old building set to be demolished :(

This is the theatre in Targoviste.

The beginning of the Princely Court

A little clearer. It's big!

Sunset Tower, where Vlad's men stood watch.

So many beautiful flowers growing in spite of harsh, over used land.

Like the flowers say-

Along either side of a long courtyard are busts of all of Romania's vivodes.

Except this guy, someone stole his head.

And here in the middle is Romania's greatest hero. Vlad the Impaler!

Highlight picture of the day. This statue is actually amazing.
It was a little in awe and intimidated by it. I think it's the fact it's almost an action pose.

The other side with the rest of Romania's kings and warlords.

See the ladybug?

There are all these flower/reed statues in the park here.

MOOSE!

Swans and a carrage.

My favorite: the turtle. Flamingo behind it.

Horse and buggy.

This little girl saw me taking a picture of the cabin and posed.

The other side of Sunset Tower.

Beautiful wildlife behind the ruins of the Princely Court.

From here Vlad ruled Targoviste as his capital city.

Four layers of walls protected the court.

That front wall looks low enough to climb over...

But I'd get in SO MUCH trouble. So I move on.

Vlad had his own church in the Princely Court.

A shot of the theatre from across the street.

You can see what shows are coming up on the board to the left.

The doors to the monastary.

St. George slaying the dragon.

My guide book!

A map of Bucharest blah.

There is Bucharest, to the South is Bulgaria. To the North, Transilvania.

Here is the path I'm taking/taken. Bucharest-Snagov-Bucharest-Targoviste
Then on to Curtea de Arges-Arefu-Poineri

This is the cool place to hang out on a Friday, not kidding. It blasts hip hop music too.

I WANT! Romanian Cinnimon Toast Crunch

Statue of someone. Couldn't see it well in the dark.

15 Lei! ($5!)
